Beattie
Manufacturing company (America's oldest carpet name) dates
back to 1840. Bob Beattie joined the company in 1955.
He is the sole survivor of the original company and is the
5th generation of carpet and rugs manufacturing and
distribution.
Mr. Beattie
started unloading trucks of wool with bailing hooks in 1955,
while attending Georgetown University for four years in
Washington D.C. He graduated with a Bachelors of
Science degree in economics in 1958. Bob then joined Beattie
Manufacturing full time in a sales position, in the
Washington/ Baltimore/ Virginia area.
In 1965 Mr.
Beattie was promoted to management to the position of
corporation secretary, director and senior officer. He
continued acting in the senior sales capacity until 1976, selling to all fifty
states.
In 1979, Mr.
Beattie sold his 44% stock interest and moved from New
Jersey to Dalton Georgia starting R.W. Beattie
Carpet Industries, Inc., which exports the best of floor covering products from the
carpet capital of the world, such as carpet, area rugs and
carpet sundries.

Mr. Beattie
travels abroad extensively to South America and the
Caribbean several times a year. "We
